“It always amazes me how financial experts can make something that’s so simple sound complicated.” – George Guzzardo
The Financial Fitness Program was created to teach people the simple and basic principles of personal finance in order to help people develop new habits and make better financial decisions. Surprisingly, financial common sense isn’t so common. Most people go through life with a money-world-view that is quite contrary to the truth. This backwards thinking is often influenced by the media and generational habits that were never broken. The Financial Fitness Program is helping people to break the cycle of poor financial thinking and provide hope again to the masses.
Recently, we received a story from a young couple that purchased the Financial Fitness Program and started to apply its principles which significantly changed their thinking and helped them to break the cycle of debt in their family. Here is Matt and Allison Lehman’s Financial Fitness success story, written by Allison:
Financial Fitness Program Sets Another Family Free: Matt and Allison Lehman:
In late 2012 we were introduced to Life Leadership and the Financial Fitness Program. From that day forward our lives were changed in so many amazing ways; one of the biggest was financially.
In 2013 my husband, who was only my boyfriend at the time, had started going through the Financial Fitness Program. He started to apply the 47 principles beginning with the Pay Yourself First principle. Because of that principle, he decided to sell his Chevy diesel truck and his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and then he quit his trucking business because he quickly realized it was costing him more to keep the business than he was actually making.
At this point in time, I was still living at home with my parents and Matt’s drastic financial decisions started to rub off on me. I learned that eating out everyday at my job was costing around $50-$75 a week, so that was the first change I made in order to cut back on expenses.
Little did I know that Matt was preparing for our future life together. Because of what he was learning in the Financial Fitness Program, Matt paid off his home in May of 2014 and proposed to me at the end of June. However, even though Matt was making all these smart financial changes, it didn’t mean everything was peachy right away!
“We learned that consistency in finances is definitely an art, one that we hadn’t quite gotten the hang of yet!”
We bought a used vehicle off the lot in September of 2014 that we thought we deserved because we could afford the payment and because we practiced delayed gratification on “other stuff.” It was one of the biggest mistakes we made financially; we didn’t apply the 24 hour rule and the salesman sold us. It took us several months longer than we expected to finally pay the car off and was one of the biggest lessons we learned so far in this financial journey.
Our plan was to get married in May of 2015, but the Lord had different plans for us. We ended up getting married on Sunset Beach, Treasure Island, Florida on December 29th, 2014. The wedding was completely paid for. In January of 2015, we flew to Jamaica for our honeymoon – 8 days and 7 nights in the most beautiful place we have ever been, that we paid for in cash! We had our first child in September of 2016 and yes, he was paid for too. 🙂 All of this happened because the Lord opened our hearts and our minds to different information and a different association that would help us get on the right track.
“Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady have mastered the art of finances and their results in life prove it! The Financial Fitness Program WORKS!”
In less than 3 years, we have paid off close to $80,000 in debt! My husband is still working but I was able to leave my job on April Fool’s day 2015, all because we started to apply different information into our lives. Matt is 24 years old and I am 21. It does not matter how young or old you are, this program is for everyone! The defense alone has enabled me to be a stay-at-home mother with our four-month-old little boy. We just purchased a new home in cash and we don’t have a mortgage; we don’t have to stress over our finances any longer, all because we have learned the simple and basic principles of finances and decided to apply the principles to our lives. We are so thankful for the Financial Fitness Program!
Congratulations to Matt and Allison Lehman for applying the Financial Fitness principles into their life and escaping the Financial Matrix! What an inspiring story of discipline and hope for others who are currently on the journey.

I was blessed to have a front row seat and watch this transition takes place . Since Matt is a very quiet guy I never knew this was taking place on the financial side of their life until they were well into the journey. But I did see Matt and Ally be very disciplined and they took advantage of our total access to it’s fullest. They showed up at all of our events with a smile and were always very encouraging to others. It was inspiring to watch them grow personally as the time went on. Everybody on the team love these guys and we are so proud of them. Great job Guys!!!
